The group is currently accepting applications for their Community Education Grants, that got toward local non-profits who want to provide additional programming that they might not be able to provide.

“We enable non-profits to do things they might not be able to do otherwise,” said Maria Kalivas, president of the Weston Education Foundation. “We think its an important part of our lives in Weston.”

In the past, the community grants have gone to fund programming the senior center, the library and the historical society.

“Preference is given to organizations that can demonstrate sustainable funding for their project after the completion of the WEF grant,” said Lois Guberman, Chair of the Grants Committee.

There are two grant cycles available, the first is from Sept. 1 to Oct. 15 and the second is from Feb.15 to April 1. Organizations must wait for 12 months to apply for another grant if they recently received a grant.
