At 11:30 p.m. Sunday, officers were dispatched to a Westport home on a report that a vehicle had been taken without the owner’s permission, police said.
Officers learned that the victim and Pedro Piedade of Bridgeport had an argument, during which Piedade grabbed a pair of scissors and pointed them at the victim in a threatening manner, police said.
Officers saw items thrown about the home consistent with a disturbance and evidence of a minor injury to the victim’s arms, police said.
And despite the victim’s protests, Piedade had left the residence in the victim’s vehicle, police said.
At 4 a.m. Monday, the Bridgeport Police Department contacted Westport police headquarters to report that Piedade had been located at a Bridgeport residence, police said.
Westport officers responded and took Piedade into custody.
Piedade was charged with disorderly conduct, second-degree threatening and using a motor vehicle without owner’s permission.
He was released after posting $10,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court later Monday.
