Westons Devil's Glen is a popular spot where out-of-towners and Westonites can test their limits jumping off cliffs as high as 40 feet. And when they enter the cold water, theres the danger of striking large boulders.
There are typically types of jumpers--the ones who go at it full speed, showing no caution. And the ones who tip-toe to the edge, run back, run forward, stop short, start again, scream a little in fright, run back, count "one, two, three" and finally jump, screaming all the way down.
Devil's Glen, however, is not meant to be a place for these adventure seekers. There is a town ordinance in Weston that prohibits swimming in Devils Glen. In fact, it's illegal to trespass on the property. The Weston Police Department recorded more than 50 incidents of people violating the town's ordinance in 2010 between the months of June and September. This year, in May alone, the police have reported six incidents.
A Youtube search for Devil's Glen shows many jumpers taking the plunge--some taking much longer than others to build up the courage.
Devil's Glen is located off Valley Forge Road in Weston and is often confused with Devil's Den Preserve, located at 33 Pent Road, off Godfrey Road.
