EASTON, Conn. The New England Prayer Center filed a six-month lease extension for the town-owned property on South Park Avenue, according to documents supplied by First Selectman Thomas Herrmann.
The prayer center has leased 22 S. Park Ave. from the town since 2008. Included within the lease agreement is an option to purchase the land from the town.
The prayer center has extended the lease agreement until July 10. The lease extension also included a $37,500 check made out to the town, which will go into the towns special revenue account.
When asked to comment on the extension, Herrmann said Wednesday, My hope is that they exercise the options and conditions they agreed to in 2008.
