Easton To Hand Out Food, Water, Ice After Hurricane Sandy

EASTON, Conn. — Easton has requested food, water and ice from the state and federal governments and expects to distribute the items to residents Thursday at Town Hall.

"We requested provisions from the state and FEMA, and it should be available tomorrow," police Capt. Richard Doyle said Wednesday.

National Guard crews are in town to help clear roads, Doyle said.

United Illuminating reported that 1,782 Easton customers remained without power. Crews were working, but Doyle said there was no time estimate for when the town will have full power.
