Gibbons is a Grammy Award-nominated pianist who has played Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall and London’s Royal Albert Hall. He specializes in the work of George Gershwin, about whom he hosted a special performance at the Kennedy Center in Washington earlier this year.
This weekend, Gibbons will perform Gershwin tunes, as well as piece by Chopin and his own original compositions. He will offer two shows: Saturday night starting at 7 and Sunday starting at 3 p.m. A reception with refreshments will follow the Saturday evening performance.
Admission is free for both performances, but reservations are requested. Those interested can sign up at the Mark Twain Library website, in person at the library or by calling 203-938-2545.
