REDDING, Conn. -- Drivers might want to avoid Simpaug Turnpike in Redding on Thursday due to roadwork.
The Highway Department will be working on Simpaug Turnpike from Station Road to Marchant Road.
The work had been scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 29, but was delayed until Thursday due to unexpected contractor delays.
Town officials said every effort will be made for one-way alternating traffic, but motorists are urged to use alternate routes.
