A Connecticut police officer was charged with breach of peace after he allegedly slapped a prisoner who was handcuffed to a hospital bed. Hartford Police Officer Marcello Confeiteiro was arrested on Wednesday, Aug. 28, and released on a promise to appear. According to Lt. The death of a man who was placed into custody after experiencing a mental health crisis and severely injuring himself has prompted an investigation by the Connecticut Office of the Inspector General into the incident. A police officer is under investigation by Connecticut State Police after shooting a suspect in the leg. The incident took around 7 a.m., Monday, April 26, in New Haven County when the two people ran up to the Derby officer's police cruiser as he was sitting at a traffic light, said State Police Trooper Joe Dorelus. Four Connecticut police officers who fatally shot an unarmed man during an April stand-off have been cleared of wrong-doing by the state. State Police have released information on the fatal officer-involved shooting that occurred at a senior residence complex late Saturday in Danbury. Danbury police officers responded to 25 Memorial Drive in Danbury for the report of a suspicious man.
