State Trooper Injured After I-84 Crash In Danbury Causes Hours-Long Closure
A Connecticut State Police trooper was injured after an overnight crash that caused a three-hour closure on a stretch of I-84. It happened in Fairfield County just after 9 p.m. Friday, June 14, in Danbury. The 41-year-old trooper was inside her cruiser with the emergency lights activated at the scene of another accident on the shoulder on the westbound side between Exit 8 on and off ramps. Small Plane Clips Roof Of Danbury Home, Crashes Into Shed
Two people were injured after a small plane crashed into a Fairfield County shed wedged between two homes. The crash took place in Danbury around 6 p.m., Monday, April 10, in the area of 161 Southern Blvd., about three miles from Danbury Airport, the Danbury Fire Department reported. The single-engine Cessna 152 clipped the roof of a home and then crashed into a small shed on the side of the property, officials said. Children Trapped In School Bus Rescued After Bus Slams Into Pole In Stamford
A smart-thinking bus driver saved three children who were trapped onboard their bus after the vehicle struck a utility pole, bringing live wires down on top of the bus. The incident took place around 6:45 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, at Sunset Road and West Trail in Stamford, said Stamford Fire Chief Trevor Roach. Massive $29.4M Recall Issued By Harley-Davidson Because Brakes May Not Work
Harley-Davidson is recalling more than 250,000 motorcycles that could cost the company upwards of $30 million after discovering a deficiency in its brakes that could cause them to fail. The voluntary recall includes more than two dozen bike models that were produced between 2008 and 2011 with anti-lock brakes. The international recall includes 251,000 motorcycles, with an estimated 175,000 of those sold domestically. It is expected to cost Harley-Davidson at least $29.4 million.
