CT Frontier Customers Will Get $860K In Bill Credits Over Service Failures
Connecticut consumer protection authorities have reached an agreement with Frontier Communications to reimburse customers $860,000 for repeated failures to meet state customer service standards, officials said. The settlement between the Connecticut Office of Consumer Counsel and the Texas-based telecommunications firm follows the company’s failure to address out-of-service repairs promptly and to meet scheduled maintenance appointments from January 2015 to December 2023, according to a release. Did You Get One? Mysterious 'Ghost' Text Messages Confuse Thousands
Thousands of people were left in bewilderment after receiving waves of mysterious text messages dating back months ago. The “ghost messages” were sent to both iPhone and Android users this week, and reportedly were prevalent among all major cellular carriers. In total, approximately 168,000 messages were sent due to an “internal maintenance cycle,” according to CNN. Verizon Reports East Coast Texting Outage
Verizon customers were unable to send or receive texts Tuesday. The company -- whose slogan is "America's most reliable network" -- confirmed a texting outage on the East Coast in a tweet. "Our technicians are fully aware we have a ton of customers that are being effected, and we're working non-stop to get this matter resolved as soon as possible," Verizon said. Outages from Boston to Florida were showed on the website Down Detector. The issue was resolved Tuesday morning.
