Winter Weather Advisory Issued For Parts Of Region As Storm Approaches As a strong storm system nears the Northeast, a Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for parts of the region far north and inland. Mixed precipitation including snow, sleet and freezing rain is expected for areas where the advisory is in effect, including western Ulster and Sullivan counties in the Hudson Valley and northern Litchfield in Connecticut. (See second image above.)  Total snow and sleet accumulations of 2 to 4 inches and ice accumulations of a light glaze to up to a tenth of an inch is possible in those areas. Areas south of I-84, including Westchester, Rockland, Nassau, Suffolk and Fairfield counties, as well as most of Putnam County, could see a bit of sleet mixed with rain when the potent storm arrives between midnight and 3 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 18, but is expected to be all rain after that time frame. Bridgeport Man's Murder Conviction Overturned After 33 Years In Prison A 62-year-old Fairfield County man who spent 33 years in prison in New York for the murder of a teenager had his day in court and his conviction has been overturned on Long Island. Keith Bush of Bridgeport, who has maintained his innocence for 44 years since his arrest in 1975, had his conviction overturned this week after a case review found new evidence that proved his innocence. Snow Way! Parts Of Region Will See White Stuff Just Days From Start Of May Are you sitting?  OK. Here goes. Just days away from the start of May, some residents in the region, including a large part of New York State, may be seeing some snow this weekend. (See image above.) Snow showers could bring a coating of accumulation as far south as the northwestern Hudson Valley, including Sullivan County. The white stuff is expected early Sunday morning, April 28 as a round of precipitation moves west to east.
