Know Him? Man Wanted In New CT Phone Bail Scam, Police Say Connecticut State Police are warning residents of another phone bail scam to which at least one resident has fallen victim. State Police report the latest incident took place in Middlesex County on Friday, Feb. 16 in East Haddam when a resident gave money to an alleged scammer after receiving a call that a family member was in trouble. According to the complainant, the resident received a phone call indicating that a family member was in custody as a result of their involvement in a motor vehicle accident. CT Couple Found Dead In Home, Police Say Investigators believe a Connecticut couple found dead in their home likely died in a murder-suicide. Woman Almost Falls For 'Grandson' Scam In Stamford, Police Say Stamford police spent several hours Monday convincing a resident that her grandson had not been arrested and she didn't need to pay money to help him. The woman called the Stamford police Monday morning and told them she had removed $5,000 from her bank account after receiving a call from a "person" who claimed that her grandson had been arrested in New York and was in trouble, said Stamford police Sgt.
