Stamford Felon Nabbed With Gun, Drugs, Police Say
A Fairfield County man recently acquitted on a 2012 murder charge was nabbed by police following a weeks-long investigation he might be in possession of a firearm.
Hakeem Atkinson, age 27, of Stamford, was arrested on Thursday, Jan. 5, after Stamford Police Narcotics and Organized Crime agents stopped him as he was leaving work in Fairfield, said Stamford Deputy Chief Richard Conklin.
The investigation allowed the unit to obtain warrants for his person, vehicle, and home, Conklin said.

Trio Caught Breaking Into Cars In Trumbull, Police Say
Three Connecticut teenagers have been charged for allegedly breaking into vehicles in the parking lot of a Fairfield County apartment complex.
The three were arrested in Trumbull on Wednesday, Sept. 7, following the incident at the Ten Trumbull Apartments.

Two Fairfield County men were arrested, one for allegedly stalking an ex-girlfriend and for a firing gunshot in the area of her home and vehicle.
The men, Ian Murray, 33, and Christopher Smeriglio, 34, both of Norwalk, were arrested by Wilton Police on Thursday, Jan. 7, following a report of shots fired, said Lt. Gregg Phillipson.

Man Nabbed With Resident's Stolen Credit Cards, iPad, Apple Watch In Wilton, Police Say
Police nabbed a man on identity theft following a traffic stop for expired vehicle registration.
Amir Kitale Williams, 26, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was arrested on Sunday, Dec. 13, by Wilton Police after he was stopped in a 2019 Nissan Rogue who's registration was showing expired, police said.
During the traffic stop, a strong odor of marijuana resulted in a search of the vehicle.
During the search, police found three iPads, an Apple watch, and identifying documents belonging to a Stamford resident including credit cards, gift cards, and licenses inside the vehicle.

An area man was arrested after he left a truck he had allegedly stolen in the driveway of a home and walked away.
Kyle Barone, 18, of Milford, was arrested on Monday, Nov. 30, by the Ansonia Police Department after receiving a suspicious activity complaint, said Lt. Patrick Lynch.

Man Charged With Chasing Person With Box Cutter, Slashing Tires Outside Convenience Store
A 39-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly chasing another man around the parking lot of a convenience store with a box cutter and then slashing his tires.
Police responded to the incident around 5:30 a.m., Monday, June 1, at the Cumberland Farms in Milford, said the Milford Police.
When officers arrived on the scene, they found that Rhonel Russell, of Bridgeport, had allegedly punched an acquaintance in the face, and then chased him around the parking lot with a box cutter, police said.

A Bethel man has been arrested for allegedly masturbating with his penis exposed while sitting in his vehicle in a shopping plaza, not once, but at least twice, Newtown Police said.
Newtown received the reported of the masturbating man last week while in his vehicle at the Sand Hill Shopping Plaza, said Newtown Police Lt. Aaron Bahamonde.

Man Wanted For Causing Disturbance At Greenwich Party Turns Himself In, Police Say
A man who failed to appear in court on charges of causing a disturbance at a Greenwich party in 2017, turned himself in to police.
Darius Juwell Hamlette, 21, of Norwalk, surrendered to Greenwich Police on Wednesday, July 17, and was arrested for failure to appear, said the Greenwich Police Department.
Hamlette is accused of allegedly threatening numerous people during a house party on Hickory Drive in Greenwich on Oct. 7, 2017, police said.
He was originally charged with threatening, breach of peace and possession of marijuana.

Bridgeport Man Found Unresponsive Behind Wheel Under The Influence, Greenwich Police Say
A man with an active warrant out for his arrest after he was found slumped over the wheel of his car, allegedly intoxicated in Greenwich, is in custody, police said.
Bridgeport resident Daniel Plummer, 30, was found unresponsive behind the wheel of his vehicle on Feb. 9 in Greenwich, police said. At the time he was found, Plummer’s vehicle had alcoholic beverages and marijuana inside.
According to police, it was later determined that Plummer was operating the vehicle while under the influence and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
