Veterinarian Charged With Animal Cruelty, Fraud In Bridgeport A local veterinarian has been arrested for animal cruelty after injuring a kitten, and then performing surgery on a dog that wasn't needed and almost starving the animal to death, said the Bridgeport Police. Dr. Amr Wasfi, 74, the owner of Black Rock Animal Center, in Bridgeport, was arrested on a warrant on Thursday, May 2, and charged with animal cruelty and fraud in the case that almost killed a dog who was taken to the doctor for help when he was limping, said the Bridgeport Police. Fairfield County Man ID'd As Fatal Route 34 Crash Victim Police have identified a 36-year-old Fairfield County man killed in a two-vehicle crash on Route 34 in New Haven County on Tuesday morning. Christopher Etes of Sandy Hook was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash near Buckingham Road, according to the Derby Police. Etes, who was driving a Jeep when he crashed into a box truck, was the driver at fault in the incident, Derby Police said in a statement.
