After a decade of serving as assistant principal, an experienced educator will now take the helm of a Fairfield County middle school. An educator in Fairfield County has been named the Connecticut Association of Schools’ 2023 Elementary School Principal of the Year. Staples HS Welcomes New Principal
The Westport Board of Education has named a veteran educator to take over at the helm of Staples High School. The Board announced on Thursday that Stafford W. Thomas, Jr. will succeed Principal James D’Amico, who announced earlier this year that he was resigning to take over at his hometown high school in New Fairfield. Thomas will take over on July 1, when D’Amico’s resignation officially takes effect. He was unanimously approved by the Board at a meeting on Thursday, June 20. This Fairfield County Middle School Named Tops In State
A Fairfield County school has been named the state’s “middle school of the year” by the Connecticut Association of Schools. Earlier this year, Principal Bryan Darcy of David Wooster Middle School in Stratford was notified by the organization that the school had been named a finalist for the award. The Connecticut Association of Schools (CAS) has officially named Gordon Beinstein, the principal of Western Middle School in Greenwich, as the Connecticut Principal of the Year for 2019. Mr. Beinstein was nominated by a number of students, teachers, administrators and parents, each of whom referenced the achievements and improvements in the school’s culture since his 2013 arrival.
