State Trooper Injured After Teen Driver Rear-Ends Police Cruiser On I-84 A state police trooper who was helping a disabled motorist received minor injuries when his cruiser was hit on I-84 by an 18-year driver. Trooper Brett Cook, 30, was injured around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday while stopped with his emergency lights going on the right shoulder of I-84 westbound about a mile west of Exit 59 in East Hartford when another vehicle lost control and slammed into his cruiser, said the Connecticut State Police.
