Rally Held For Hotel Worker Attacked by NY Couple; Suspects To Face Bigotry Charges
A Connecticut community came together to support a hotel worker injured during an allegedly racially-motivated attack as a New York couple is due to face charges of bigotry and assault this week. Dozens of people congregated Sunday, July 26, in Stonington for a rally in support of Crystal Caldwell, 59, a Groton woman that video surveillance shows was viciously attacked while working at the Quality Inn in Mystic. Ridgefield Rabbi Saddened By Latest Anti-Semitic Graffiti Found In Town
RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- Rabbi David L. Reiner of Congregation Shir Shalom of Westchester and Fairfield Counties said he was saddened by recent discoveries of anti-Semitic graffiti on two locations in Ridgefield. Ridgefield Police received reports on Sunday and Tuesday that swastikas had been found drawn on the Aldrich Museum and the Masonic Lodge in Ridgefield. The drawings appeared to have been drawn by the same person and were removed, but are part of a pattern of anti-Semitic drawings that have cropped up in town over recent months.
