Spring Valley Man With Loaded Firearm Resists Arrest, Police Say ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. -- A Rockland County man is facing a host of charges after fighting with police while they were trying to apprehend him for having a loaded firearm, according to the Spring Valley Police Department. Peekskill Man Nabbed With 400 Glassines Of Heroin A Peekskill man was busted with 400 glassines of heroin on Friday following the execution of a search warrant at a home on Highland Avenue, according to the Peekskill Police. Jose Raymond, 48, was arrested after Det. Matt Basso and members of the Westchester County Task Force executed the search warrant at 610 Highland Ave., resulting in the seizure of more than 400 glassines of heroin, said Lt. John White. SUV Gets Cut Off, Crashes Off Road Onto Roof On Saw Mill Parkway A motorist walked away from a crazy car crash when he was cut off by another driver, lost control of his vehicle on the Saw Mill River Parkway in Dobbs Ferry, flew off the road and into a wooded area, and rolled onto its roof, according to Westchester County Police. Lifetime Resident Appointed New Clarkstown Police Chief ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. -- The Clarkstown Town Board chose one of its lieutenants to be the town's new top cop following the firing two weeks ago of former Chief Michael Sullivan. State Revokes Orange County Psychiatrist's License A Middletown psychiatrist had his license revoked for what the state said included practicing medicine with "gross negligence. Dr. Stanley Giudici, of Integrated Precision Medicine, had his medical license suspended by the New York Board for Professional Medical Conduct for “negligence on more than one occasion” and “failing to maintain accurate patient medical records." The board claimed Giudici provided psychiatric treatment without properly seeing patients, or keeping proper patient records. Police: Poughkeepsie Woman Caught With $10K Worth Of Heroin In Baby Crib DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. -- A Poughkeepsie woman is behind bars after the New York State Police Community Narcotics Enforcement Team found more than $10,000 worth of heroin hidden in a baby crib during a search of her Thompson Street residence. Retired Putnam Deputy Sheriff Sal Guadagnino Dies Salvatore Guadagnino of Carmel, a retired Putnam County Sheriff's deputy, died on Tuesday, Sept. 26, with his family by his side. He was 78. Born in 1939, in New York City, Guadagnino was a devoted husband, a loving father, and dedicated grandfather. He was proud to be a member of the U.S. Army Reserves and before retirement, he was employed and served as a Putnam County Sheriff's deputy. Ramapo Police Issue New Alert On Larcenies From Vehicles ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. -- Ramapo police have issued an alert to residents regarding a rise in the number of larcenies from motor vehicles in the Village of Sloatsburg. To help curb the rip-offs, officers are reminding residents to lock their vehicle, keep any personal belongings out of sight and remove any valuables when leaving the vehicle. They also suggest parking in public or well-lit areas. Police are also encouraging residents to report any suspicious activity to the Ramapo Police Department at 845-357-2400.
