Winners Announced In Pleasantville Middle School Writing Contest
PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Four poems, a comic origin story and a science fiction story were recognized recently as winners of Pleasantville Middle School’s fifth annual 8th Grade Writing Contest.
The winning authors are:
Jillian Frank – poem, "Morning"
Benjamin Hahn – comic origin story, "The Pineapple and The Gazelle"
Elliot Powell – poem, "Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness"

WESTPORT, Conn. – For the first time in Westport, a nonprofit promoting innovation and creativity in education will be offering a family-friendly workshop focusing on how to use the human voice to interact with a computer.
Remarkable STEAM, a nonprofit that supports groundbreaking efforts in the areas of science, technology, engineering, arts and math, is working with the Westport Library to put on the Maker Faire Westport, a showcase of “invention, creativity and resourcefulness and a celebration of the Maker Movement.”

'CVS Bandit' Charged With Cleaning Out Stamford Stores Of High-End Shampoo
STAMFORD, Conn. -- A Bronx, N.Y., man already in custody on charges that he stole $3,500 worth of high-end women's hair care products in Darien is now believed to have stolen more than $8,000 worth of similar products in multiple cities, according to the Stamford Advocate.Luis Medina, 26, was arrested in January by Darien police in connection with the theft of high-end shampoo from a CVS store on Post Road.
Medina has since been connected to similar thefts in Stamford, Westport and New York City, according to the Stamford Advocate.
