Trumbull Schools Locked Down As Police Chase Suspect In Armed Robbery

TRUMBULL, Conn. – Several Trumbull schools were in lockdown Tuesday morning as police chased an armed robbery suspect across the Merritt Parkway, according to the Connecticut Post.

The attempted robbery occurred on Sunnycrest Road, where the suspect tried to break into a home, the Post said. The owner called police, who spotted him and gave chase, the Post noted.

The suspect was a juvenile who turned out to be carrying a fake gun, dropping it as the chase moved into Bridgeport, reported the Connecticut Post.

Police were able to take him into custody near Forest View Road in Bridgeport, the Post said.
