Another person has been arrested in connection with a rash of overnight thefts from vehicles following a lengthy investigation involving multiple police agencies.

Luis Correa, 47, of Bridgeport turned himself into police to Trumbull Police on Thursday, Dec. 5, on a warrant in connection with the burglaries that took place in August, said Trumbull Police Lt. Brian Weir.

Correa, along with another man, Christopher Right, 46, of Shelton, were identified through collaborative efforts with the Shelton Police who were also investigating similar thefts nearby in their town, Weir said.

In August, several Trumbull residents of the Nichols area found that their vehicles had been entered and items stolen during the overnight hours.

Most of the vehicles were left unlocked and parked in residential driveways, or in close proximity to the residence.

"This crime spree has been a recurring pattern that was affecting this entire area of the state," said Weir.

Shelton Police detectives contacted the Trumbull Police after they located several items that had been stolen from Trumbull.

As Shelton Police investigated similar crimes in their town, they developed Correa as a suspect who they linked to the stolen property.

As the police investigation progressed, Right was determined to be involved in the area thefts as well.

Right was arrested in October on a warrant and charged with several counts of larceny.

Following his arrest, Correa was charged with larceny and conspiracy to commit burglary. He is being held on a $15,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Friday, Dec. 13.

The Trumbull Police continue to remind all residents to always lock their vehicles and never leave keys or valuables visible inside.
