An early morning fire on the second floor of a Trumbull home left the residence "unlivable."

The Trumbull Fire Department responded to the fire around 2:15 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 27, at 14 Chatham Drive, the department said.

The first firefighters on the scene confirmed an active fire on the second floor of the single family residential structure.

Residents were safely evacuated as firefighters from Trumbull Center, Nichols and Long Hill Fire departments responded to the scene and attacked the blaze.

Additionally crews from the Shelton Fire Department provided station coverage.

There were no firefighter or civilian injuries, the department said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Trumbull Fire Marshals Office.
