Those who qualify are individuals who expect to be unable to appear at the required polling place during the hours of voting for the following reasons: Active service in the armed forces of the United States, absence from the town during all of the hours of voting, illness, physical disability, religious tenets which forbid secular activity on the day of the referendum and duties as a referendum official at the polling place during all of the hours of voting.
Absentee ballot applications will be available Tuesday. Hours of the referendum are 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Monroe Senior Center, 235 Cutlers Farm Road, Monroe.
The following are the extended office hours: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 1-3; 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 4 and 9 a.m. to noon March 5.
