31-Year-Old Man Fatally Struck By Semi-Trailer In CT A 31-year-old man was fatally struck by a semi-trailer truck on I-91 in Connecticut. The crash happened on I-91 South near Exit 21 in Cromwell at about 11:20 p.m. on Monday, July 18, according to Connecticut State Police. Police said Nicholas Davidowicz, of Newton, Massachusetts, was standing outside of a 2014 Toyota Prius that was parked in the right and center lanes, and a 2014 Cascadia Freightliner swerved to avoid a collision. Man From Region Admits To Attempting To Buy Jeep With Counterfeit Check A Massachusetts man is facing years behind bars after admitting to purchasing a Jeep using a counterfeit check. David Hogan, age 58, of Worcester, pleaded guilty to one count of wire fraud Monday, April 25, in federal court in Boston. Prosecutors said Hogan visited a Newton dealership in March 2021 and gave them a $56,000 check for a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, which he then drove off the lot. But when the dealership tried cashing the check, they were told the bank account had been frozen, prosecutors said. Massachusetts State Police Cruiser Struck By Tractor-Trailer A Massachusetts state trooper was seriously injured after being struck by a tractor-trailer while protecting a road construction crew. The incident took place around 11:44 p.m., Tuesday, Sept.. 28 on I-95 southbound near its intersection with the Mass Pike in Weston in Middlesex County. According to Dave Procopio, of the state police, the trooper was inside his cruiser when it was struck.  "The trooper sustained serious injuries, but was alert and radioed in the crash himself," Procopio said.
