Shark Spotted Along Shoreline Of NY Beach
"We’re gonna need a bigger boat.” Long Island got a taste of Steven Spielberg’s classic 1975 film “Jaws” when a shark found itself in a precarious position after it washed up onshore. A quick-thinking commercial fisherman jumped into action to help assist a shark that was struggling along the shoreline of a Long Island beach at Point Lookout north of the Loop Parkway Bridge in Nassau County. Fisherman Faces Tampering With Evidence, Other Charges In Greenwich
A fisherman from Westchester County is in police custody after turning himself in for allegedly dumping illegal fish and tampering with evidence in Fairfield County waters. New Rochelle resident Lawrence McLoughlin was stopped by the Greenwich Police Department Marine Unit on Oct. 17 in his 24-foot center counsel boat for a safety inspection due to rough waters. Police said that McLoughlin consented to stop and pulled his vessel toward a local dock for the inspection.
