Stamford Synchronized Skaters Medal at Colonials

STAMFORD, Conn. – Three teams from the Southern Connecticut Synchronized Skating club won medals, including two gold, at the Colonial Classic last weekend in Lowell, Mass.

The team skates out of Terry Conners Skating Club in Stamford. Girls from many lower Fairfield County communities skate on the teams.

The Sprites, a beginner team, won gold in the four-team Beginner 1 Group B division. Girls on the Sprites include Norwalk’s Rachel Iannazzo; and Stamford’s Kathryn Berger, Julia Brown, Alyssa Fish, Kelly Fox, Tessa Kurtz, Isabel Malone, Natalie Pulachnik, Olivia Shen and Sherlynn Arcum.

The Shimmers captured Pre-Juvenile Intermediate Group A gold, beating 10 other teams. The team includes Isabella Salant and Haley Fuller of New Canaan, Brooke Ferris of Darien, Alexis Hartigan and Margot Sosa of Greenwich, Sydney Willis of Westport, Kalaudia Auz of Norwalk, and Stamford’s Lily Fine, Natalie Hernandez, Rachel Mensah, Danielle Nugent and Natalie Pescantez.

The Shadows finished second in the 11-team Open Juvenile Group B division. New Canaan’s Katie Marciano; Darien’s Isabel Duncan, Hannah Nillson, Katrine Ryan and Katrina Vassell; Greenwich’s Megan Stevenson, and Stamford’s Emily Hernandez, Kiara Hoherchak, Candace Wright and Emile Merole compete for the Shadows.
