Stamford Babe Ruth Fall League Action

The following are recaps from recent 13u Stamford Babe Ruth Fall Ball games. 

13u Stamford Warriors are 7-2. The Stamford Babe Ruth Warriors 13u Travel Team completed its first half fall schedule with a 7-2 record. 

13u Stamford Warriors 13, Wilton Blue 5. Telly Colarossi (3-0, 4.32 ERA) picked up the win as the Stamford Babe Ruth Warriors easily cruised past Wilton. Colarossi (.464 avg.) helped his cause going 2-2. Erik McKenna (.500 avg.) also had two hits, driving in a run. 

13u Stamford Warriors 16, Fairfield 1. Billy Shultz (1-0, 2.00 ERA) tossed the complete game for the win to help Stamford get past Fairfield. Dan Combs (.368 avg.) went 2-2 with two RBI. Nick Dipreta (.516 avg., 13 RBI) also added two hits. Tim Mira (.500 avg.) chipped in a hit, a RBI and two runs. 

13u Stamford Warriors 7, Greenwich Royal 16. Stamford suffered its second loss of the season. Trailing early 5-0, the Warriors crawled back to 5-4, before falling to a strong Greenwich squad. Stamford was lead by Billy Shultz (.294 avg.) with two hits. Tyrone Jeronimo doubled to drive in two runs, helping the Warriors to begin its comeback.

13u Stamford Warriors 12, Fairfield, 2. Behind starting pitcher Nick Frattaroli and relief help from Telly Colarossi, the Warriors conquered the Fairfield team. Stamford had a number of hitting stars including Frattaroli (.448 avg.) who went 2-2 with two RBI and a run scored Charlie Dill (.308 avg.) banged out two hits and two RBI. Colarossi also had a single, plating two to help his cause on the mound. 

13u Stamford Warriors 11, Greenwich Royal, 8. Stamford jumped out to a 7-0 lead only to watch the Royals battle back to tie things 8-8 entering the final inning. Kieran Duncan (2-2) added much late relief to grab the win for the Warriors. The early thunder came off the bat of Nick Frattarolli (4-5), Nick DiPreta (3-4), with the score tied, opened the home 6th thwith a long double. He came around to score on a RBI from Kristian Cepeda (.300 avg.). Cepeda then scored on a RBI from Dan Combs. Combs then scored the final run on a sac fly from Billy Shultz. Duncan then retired Greenwich in order in the seventh to end the game.

13u Stamford Warriors 19, Westport 0. Nick Dipreta led the offense going 4-4 with two doubles and five RBI to support winning pitcher Kieran Duncan. Christin Cepeda and Telly Colarossi also chipped in with three hits. Nick Frattaroli and Arron D’anaflo also had multi hit games. 

13u Stamford Warriors 7,  Trumbull Hurricanes 1. Both teams played well, as Stamford broke open a close game late. Sam Berkun started for the Warriors, while Arron D’Anoflo picked up the win with four shutout innings. Telly Colarossi led the offense with two hits, two runs scored and an RBI. Nick Dipreta had two hits and two RBI. 

13u Stamford Warriors 14, Trumbull Eagles 1. The Warriors picked up their first win of the season as the bats came alive and banged out 12 hits, coasting to the easy win. Telly Colarossi got the win, tossing three strong innings and banging out two hits and an RBI. Nick Dipreta and Eric McKenna also had two hits, while Arron D’annolfo knocked in three runs. 

13u Stamford Warriors 2, Greenwich Navy, 5. Stamford received good pitching from Kieran Duncan and Arron D’anaflo, holding Greenwich to five runs. But the Warriors’ offense could not come up with the big hit. Nick Dipreta singled and drove in one run. Sam Berkun also had a good day with the bat.
