The business is partnering with Nike to provide the shoes. The store will also have 20 volunteers to staff the only water station on the course. The race begins at 7 p.m.
"My wife and I have a passion for running and fitness, and our goal is to provide everyone in our community with the opportunity to develop that same passion," said Troy Burk, co-owner of Fleet Feet Sports Stamford. "This partnership with Nike allows us to directly impact 25 youth in our community so they can grow their love of fitness using the proper equipment."
The RFR Realty 5K Run/Walk starts and ends on Tresser Boulevard in Stamford. Participants will run past the future home of the Fleet Feet Sports Stamford store twice during the out-and-back event. The RFR Realty 5K Run/Walk benefits the Boys & Girls Club of Stamford. Since its inception, the event has raised more than $1.5 million for the club, and in 2012, it attracted more than 2,200 participants.
