Conners to Host Synchronized Skating Meet

STAMFORD, Conn. — The Skating Club of Southern Connecticut will host the 12th Annual Terry Conners Synchronized Skating Open on Saturday, Dec. 3, and Sunday, Dec. 4, at Terry Conners Rink in Stamford.

The Stamford rink is home ice for the Southern Connecticut Synchronized Skating organization, representing the Skating Club of Southern Connecticut. The club skates three synchronized skating lines, the Shadows at the open juvenile level, Shimmers at pre-juvenile and Sprites at beginner.

The Shadows, Shimmers and Sprites along with hundreds of other teams from Connecticut, New York, New Jersey and from the Eastern Seaboard will skate choreographed programs that will be judged on speed, difficulty and precision, as well as style and artistic expression. The Terry Conners Synchronized Skating Open attracts about 1,000 skaters and coaches, as well as more than 1,000 fans and supporters over the two-day event.

This competition is part of the Eastern Synchronized Skating Challenge Series. It is open to all Beginner 1, 2 and 3 teams as well as preliminary, pre-juvenile, open juvenile, open collegiate and open adult teams.

Team members include girls from many Main Street Connect communities, including:

New Canaan: Katie Marciano, Isabella Salant and Haley Fuller.

Darien: Isabel Duncan, Hannah Nillson, Katrine Ryan, Katrina Vassell and Brooke Ferris.

Greenwich/Riverside: Megan Stevenson, Alexis Hartigan and Margot Sosa.

Westport: Sydney Willis.

Norwalk: Kalaudia Auz and Rachel Iannazzo.

Stamford: Emily Hernandez, Klara Hoherchak, Candace Wright, Emile Merole, Lily Fine, Natalie Hernandez, Rachel Mensah, Danielle Nugent, Natalie Pescantez, Kathryn Berger, Julia Brown, Alyssa Fish, Kelly Fox, Tessa Kurtz, Isabela Malone, Natalie Pulachniak, Olivia Shen and Sheryl Ann Arcum.
