Bobby V Supporters Pack Stamford Restaurant

STAMFORD, Conn. - The lunch break rush was a little busier than usual in Bobby V's Sports Cafe in downtown Stamford Thursday. The restaurant was packed to near-capacity around 1 p.m. to see Stamford native Bobby Valentine manage his first game for the Boston Red Sox.

The crowd was decidedly "pro-Bobby" more than "pro-Red Sox," as not a single Red Sox shirt, jersey or cap could be found on any of the patrons. Only a couple people broke out into cheers when something went Boston's way.

While the patrons might not have been Red Sox fans, the restaurant has some notable additions, including Red Sox pennants on the walls, Red Sox logos on the wait staff's shirts and a new burger on the menu called the Red Sox burger. That's a burger topped with "Buffalo Jack and Blue sticks, blue cheese dressing, lettuce and tomato" if you're wondering.

Most of the Valentine supporters had filed out long before the Red Sox lost to the Detroit Tigers on a walk-off single.
