Suspect In Stamford Tire Iron Attack Expected In Court

STAMFORD, Conn. — A Stamford woman accused of hitting a Darien woman with a tire iron-like object is scheduled to enter a plea in the case next week, court documents said.

According to police, the victim was crossing Main Street in November when Rhiannon Stifinik pulled over her vehicle, got out and attacked her with an object described as a crowbar or tire iron. The victim was treated for several cuts as well as injuries to her teeth.

The investigation led police to Stifinik, 23, who turned herself in to police in December, Lt. Diedrich Hohn said. She was charged with first-degree assault.

The victim told police she had received harassing phone calls before the incident took place, and investigators did not think the attack was random, police said in November.
