Stamford Man Gets 10 Years For Sexually Assaulting Girl; Will Be Deported

STAMFORD, Conn. — Ten years behind bars, then deportation to Guatemala: That's the sentence for a Stamford man who pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a 3-year-old girl he was babysitting when he was 19 years old, according to the Stamford Advocate.

Douglas Hus-Flores, now 20, of Stamford, was sentenced Monday to the minimum prison term for first-degree sexual assault, according to the Advocate.

The court also issued a 50-year protective order preventing Hus-Flores from having contact with the child, whom police described as a female relative, until September 2067, the Advocate said.

At the time of his arrest in March, police said that Hus-Flores had been watching the female relative while the girl's mother was out of the house.

When the mother returned, the girl told her mother that Hus-Flores had sexually assaulted her, and the girl was taken to the hospital for treatment, according to police.

Hus-Flores, who is in the country illegally, had been scheduled to appear at an immigration hearing the next day, but was instead arrested on sexual assault charges.

Hus-Flores admitted that he sexually assaulted the girl, knowing that he would be deported, police said.

The child was first taken for treatment but was transferred to Yale-New Haven Hospital in New Haven for specialized care for children who have suffered sexual assault, police said.
