Rep From Stamford Named to National Board

STAMFORD, Conn. — State Rep. Gerald Fox III, D-Stamford, has been appointed to serve on the Council of State Government's Intergovernmental Affairs Committee.

“As a state we must be prepared to react to any changes in national policy when they occur,” Fox said in a statement. “Working with officials from states with similar interests will help me better represent my home state of Connecticut.”

The committee is the primary policy-making body for the Council of State Governments, which focuses on federal and state relations and issues that impact state rights. State officials from all branches of government make up the committee.

The Council of State Governments was formed in 1933 to provide information, research and training to state officials to help spread regionwide initiatives, facilitate interbranch cooperation, advocate on state-federal issues and educate policy makers and the public on regional priorities, the statement said.

Fox is in his fourth term representing Stamford in the state House of Representatives. He chairs the Judiciary Committee and sits on the Transportation and General Administration & Elections Committees.
