Former Ambassador Supports Congressional Candidate

STAMFORD, Conn. — Congressional candidate Chris Meek received the endorsement of former U.S. Ambassador to El Salvador Charles Glazer on Thursday.

“Chris has the private sector experience, an understanding of our complex economy and he is not afraid to work hard to find solutions. Our government is in real trouble and we need leaders like Chris who will put American jobs and small business first,” Glazer, a Greenwich resident, said of the Republican’s credentials for Congress in a press release.

Meek, a Stamford resident, announced his candidacy in November to represent Connecticut’s 4th District in the House of Representatives. The seat is currently occupied by Democrat Jim Himes, who is up for re-election in November of 2012.

The Congressional hopeful is the founder of START Now!, a nonprofit organization that helps people avoid foreclosure.

Glazer served as the ambassador to El Salvador from 2007 to 2009, and joins former Connecticut Lt. Governor Mike Fedele, and state representatives Terrie Wood (R-141) and Livvy Floren (R-149) in endorsing Meek.
