Dante Fiore, 53, Dies of Cancer

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday, Aug. 31, for Dante E. Joseph Fiore, who died of cancer Thursday at age 53 after waging a brief but valiant struggle against the disease. The service will take place at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Church in Brookfield. Calling hours are 4 to 8 p.m. today, Aug. 30, at the Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Road, Brookfield.

For the last 21 years, he was employed as a lead cable splicer for Connecticut Light & Power. A valued mentor and dedicated worker, Fiore left a mark on the Stamford Area Work Center, and his absence represents a great loss. In addition to co-workers, Fiore had a great impact on friends, neighbors and family. He was born Nov. 24, 1956, to Michelina T. Fiore, who predeceased him, and Henry L. Fiore.

Along with his father, he is survived by his wife Patricia, to whom he was married 24 years; his children Nicholas and Alexandra; and his brother Conrad Fiore; and sister Michelle (Rod) Templon. He also left behind aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and extended family members. In lieu of flowers, contributions for the ongoing support and care of Fiore's family may be made to Patricia Fiore.
