Stamford Walk to Aid the Disabled Raises $35K

Always Reaching for Independence raised more than $35,000 recently at its fifth annual Walk for Independence in Cove Island Park. Proceeds support the Stamford organization’s services to adults with developmental disabilities.

More than 350 people participated in the May 1 walk, including Mayor Michael Pavia and State Rep. Michael Molgano (R-144 Stamford).

“It is great to see so much support from the Stamford community. Overall, this year’s walk exceeded all of our expectations and was a great success,” the organization’s president, Matthew Reyher, said in a press release.

ARI serves more than 150 adults, providing jobs, homes and services.
