Gertrude Danziger, 88, Stamford Holocaust Survivor

STAMFORD, Conn. – Gertrude Danziger, a longtime Stamford resident, died Friday, May 11, in New Canaan. She was 88.

She was born in Sosnowiec, Poland, to Henry and Regina Szikman. A Holocaust survivor, she was married to Leo Danziger, who predeceased her.

Danziger is survived by two sons, Joseph (Randi) Danziger, of Bensalem, Pa., and Jeffrey Danziger, of Norwalk; two daughters, Gina Danziger, of Baltimore, and Sheila (Fernando) Callo, of Clifton, Va.; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Henry; and a brother, Ruben Szikman.

Funeral services were held Sunday at Congregation Agudath Sholom, with burial at Agudath Sholom Cemetery. Leo P. Gallagher and Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
