A Tree Glows at the Arboretum

Ken Della Rocco was as excited as a little kid when he pulled the switch lighting the tree at the Bartlett Arboretum.

“This is great,” he exclaimed. “We should do this every night.”

Della Rocca, the arboretum’s president, and more than  150 friends and supporters of the Bartlett gathered Friday night to drink hot chocolate, sing carols and help light the  first annual Christmas tree.

“We didn’t really know what to expect but couldn’t be more pleased with the turnout,” said Bartlett Special Projects Coordinator Barbara Rossi.

Caroling was led by members of the St. Francis Episcopal Church of Stamford while delicious hot chocolate was  served up by Westhill High School seniors Katie Harrington and Michelle Greenman.

The tree lighting is the first of many holiday events scheduled at the arboretum. For more information, visit the Bartlett's website at or call Barbara Rossi at (203) 322 6971.
