"We will be going gangbusters from Day 1," Venditto promised.

The restaurant will be in the heart of the city's bustling downtown with its location at 101 Broad St. That's in Landmark Square and just at the corner of Broad Street and Atlantic Street.

"They can enjoy a great dining experience and in the center of everything," he said.

The food experience will be overseen by Executive Chef Enrique Reyes. He has been in the business for 17 years and a chef for the last 12. Reyes has learned from "everyone" during his career, and said he's excited to put his skills to the test and turn Del Frisco's into one of the city's finest restaurants.

He's proud of his menu and said he doesn't have a favorite.

"We've got a lot of great entrees and, for me, one is not better than the other. They all have strengths," Reyes said.

Venditto said patrons will become fans of one special offering: Del Frisco's collection of breads.

"We have flatbreads here that will knock your socks off," he said. Tacos and the flatbreads are made out of their own dough, another strength of the restaurant.

Del Frisco's may just fill the void left by Morton’s Steakhouse, which closed its doors last year. Morton's was located just a stone’s throw from UBS and RBS in downtown Stamford.

The restaurant also is hiring workers. Another sign posted in a window Tuesday advised those interested in jobs to visit visit jobs.dfrg.com or call the restaurant’s hiring office at 203-658-8482.

The chain has been serving up steaks and other chef-driven cuisine for 20 years. It also has other locations in major U.S. cities, including New York, Boston and Washington, according to the restaurant’s website.

Del Frisco's Restaurant Group is based in Southlake, Texas, and owns and operates three contemporary, high-end, complementary restaurant concepts: Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steak house, Sullivan's Steakhouse, and Del Frisco’s Grille. Each of the three concepts offers steaks and other menu selections, such as chops and fresh seafood, with an extensive wine selection.
