Police Ask Public's Help After 2-Alarm Fire Is 3rd Blaze In Hours In Fairfield County City Police in Fairfield County are asking the public for help identifying a man they believe may be involved in two fires. Sgt. Sean Scanlan, of the Stamford Police, said the department is working to identify the man who was caught on surveillance near two fires on Thursday, Sept. 29. A third fire on West Avenue around 11 a.m. Thursday is not believed to be a suspected arson, police said. Photos: Stamford Kitchen Fires Causes Thousands Of Dollars In Damage A kitchen fire in Stamford has caused thousands of dollars in damages, according to the Stamford Fire Department. Stamford Fire Department officials say they responded to 64 Schuyler Avenue on the report of a kitchen fire on Tuesday, Sept. 17 around 6:50 p.m. Fire crews quickly contained the fire to its point of origin and cleared the scene. The damages have been estimated at $10,000, officials say.
