Dutchess Soaks Up Sounds Of Summer At Greenvale Park's Concerts POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - The sounds of music and family fun have been in the air Tuesday evenings in Poughkeepsie this summer. The Town of Poughkeepsie Recreation Department has been hosting 2016 Concerts in the Park, an outdoor summer music series at Greenvale Park. The concert series started in late June, and runs through Tuesday Aug. 16. Daily Voice stopped by as Harvest Band was performing contemporary music and standards. Lightning Puts On Show As Storms Roll Through As thunderstorms rolled through the area Thursday night, scattered and frequent lightening bursts put on a show in the sky over Westchester, Putnam, Rockland and Dutchess counties. Scattered power outages affecting more than 2,500 customers in the four counties were reported late Thursday night with most expected to have power back by the pre-dawn hours Friday. Daily Voice captured a little of the show near the Peekskill waterfront. Heat and humidity were expected to continue Friday, with highs in the mid 90s and a chance of thunderstorms, with Saturday's forecast looking much the same.
