Here's Where Fairfield County School Districts Rank Among Best In State

It’s no secret that Fairfield County is home to some of the finest school districts in the Nutmeg State.

A newly released study from Niche.com determined the best school districts for 2020 nationwide by analyzing the “key statistics and millions of reviews from students and parents” using data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Among the statistics that came into factor the rankings include state test scores, graduation rates, SAT/ACT scores, teacher quality, public school district ratings, and others, which were on a weighted scale.

Fairfield County school districts to make the top 50 on the list include:

Westport School District (first overall);
New Canaan School District (second);
Darien School District (fifth);
Weston School District (sixth);
Wilton Public Schools (eighth);
Fairfield School District (ninth);
Ridgefield School District (11th);
Greenwich School District (12th);
Monroe School District (18th);
Newtown School District (22nd);
Trumbull Public Schools (24th);
Brookfield School District (31st);
Bethel School District (35th);
