FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. The deep freeze is expected to continue as temperatures are expected to hit single digits Sunday night, according to the experts at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
A low temperature of about 9 degrees is predicted with north winds of 8 to 11 mph in lower Fairfield County. Monday, which is the federal holiday to honor Martin Luther King Jr., should open to sunny skies with a daytime high temperature near freezing, according to the forecast.
But Monday night brings a chance of rain, snow and sleet before 3 a.m., changing to rain and snow likely after 4 a.m. Little or no snow is expected to accumulate. On Tuesday, rain is likely with a high near 45 degrees.
