Sybil Butler, 57, of Norwalk, was sentenced in Bridgeport district court to three years of probation for stealing the benefits. Norwalk resident Sybil Butler, has pleaded guilty in Bridgeport federal court to one count of theft of government funds for her scheme that netted tens of thousands of dollars. Butler’s mother, a former U.S. Postal Service employee, received monthly annuity payments following her retirement. She died in June 2014, at which point Butler’s scheme began.
