Report Of Grenade At Wilton School Sparks Response From Bomb Squad
Classes at a Connecticut school were interrupted after someone discovered what appeared to be a grenade on campus. Emergency crews in Fairfield County were called shortly after 1 p.m. Monday, June 3, after the device was found outside the Middlebrook School in Wilton, near the school’s batting cages. Wilton Police said administrators placed the campus into a “secure” mode, and several classrooms located adjacent to the area were moved to a different part of the building. Murder Suspect Found Dead After Standoff With Police In Fairfield
A man out on bail for allegedly shooting his ex-wife to death and attempting to kill his stepson was found dead in a storage container after a standoff with Fairfield Police. James Taylor, 75, was found dead inside a container in the rear of his Bronson Road home Tuesday, Aug. 6, following a standoff with police that began when an alert went off on his court-ordered GPS ankle monitor, Fairfield Police said. Suspicious Package Leads To Emergency Response In Westport
A call regarding a suspicious package emitting a foul odor sent Westport police officers and firefighters to a Riverside Avenue address to investigate the situation. The call came in around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2, for the package that had been delivered to the address on Monday, Dec. 31, 2018, said Westport Police Lt. Jill Cabana. The building was temporarily evacuated while officials examined the package.
