It's been a good week for lottery players in Connecticut, including one who cashed in a winning $200,000 scratch-off ticket that was sold at a local store. In Fairfield County, a winning $200,000 "Let It RIDE" scratcher that was sold at the Last Call Wine & Spirits on Main Street in Stratford was cashed in by an area resident on Monday, Jan 3, lottery officials announced. Two Die In Weekend Crashes In Same Connecticut Town
A 17-year-old on a moped and 51-year-old man died in Connecticut in separate crashes in the same town over the weekend. The first crash took place around 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 22 in East Hartford when a moped driver was hit by a passenger vehicle on Route 5, said authorities. The moped operator, Manuel Suarez, 17, of East Hartford, suffered serious injuries and was treated by paramedics on scene, then transported to a local hospital where he died from his injuries, said Lieutenant Joshua Litwin, of the East Hartford Police. Amid the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, CVS Health expanded its COVID-19 testing program by announcing 13 additional test sites at select CVS Pharmacy drive-thru locations across Connecticut. The opening of additional test sites on Friday, May 22 adds to the 12 locations previously opened on Friday, May 15 in Connecticut. As part of a statewide police crackdown, a Connecticut man is facing two decades in prison after pleading guilty to selling opioids that led to a fatal overdose.
