CT Man Charged With Savagely Abusing Boy, Police Say
A Connecticut man has been charged with savagely abusing a boy who was subjected to beatings, locked in a closet, and living in "inhumane" conditions.
New London County resident Michael Gregor, age 41, formerly of New London, who recently moved to East Lyme, was arrested on Thursday, Aug. 23.
According to Capt. Matthew Galante, of the New London Police, Gregor was arrested in connection with an incident that took place on Sunday, Jan. 29, at a home in New London involving a reported domestic dispute.

A Connecticut woman has been charged with allegedly slapping, smothering, and choking her 16-month-old son.
The arrest took place in New London County in East Lyme, at 7 a.m. Tuesday, June 7.
Katie Ann Nichols, age 36, was charged with negligent cruelty to persons, risk of injury to a child, and reckless endangerment, following an investigation, said Chief Michael Finkelstein, of the East Lyme Police.

Woman Under Influence Charged After Two Fatally Struck While Crossing Road, Police Say
A woman allegedly driving under the influence struck and killed two people while they were crossing a busy Connecticut roadway.
Stonington Police said the fatal incident took place around 8:07 p.m., Saturday, March 9, at the intersection of Route 27 and Rossie Pentway in Stonington, when a vehicle driven by Carol Belli, 73, of Groton, struck and killed two people attempting to cross the roadway, said Capt. Todd Olson.
