Dangerous extreme heat from the Midwest will start to spread East, with the first heat wave of the summer set to scorch the region.A heat wave is defined as three straight days in which the high temperature hits 90 degrees or above. High temperatures on Wednesday, July 26 will generally be in the upper 80s to around the 90-degree mark with hazy sunshine most of the day, the National Weather Service says. A brand-new round of severe thunderstorms is on track for the region amid what could be one of the hottest stretches of extreme heat in years. New Summer 2021 Forecast Reveals When To Expect Frequent Storms, Hottest Stretch
Most associate summer with sun and fun. But it's also a season marked by severe weather, including storms, wildfires, extreme heat, and droughts. With extreme heat expected this week, Con Edison is saying there could be more power outages after a blackout that left tens of thousands in the dark in midtown Manhattan over the weekend.
