Authorities in New Haven County responded to the blaze in Derby at 39 Spring St. at about 5:45 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 11, the Derby Fire Department reported. A blaze broke out on the third floor and occupied multiple units in the building, according to the report. Additional units responded from Shelton, Ansonia, and Orange, officials said. One Killed In Overnight CT House Fire A Connecticut man was found dead after an overnight house fire. The blaze began around 12:20 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 10, at a home located in New Haven County at 79 Pleasant View Road in Derby, said the Derby Fire Department. Upon arrival, firefighters found the house was up in flames, but were able to knock it down quickly, the department said. Two Hospitalized Following Fire At Home In Fairfield County Two people were hospitalized following an early morning house fire in Fairfield County. The fire began around 2:42 a.m., Sunday, Jan. 10, at a house on Hawley Road, in Shelton, said the Shelton Fire Department. When firefighters arrived on the scene, they found a large volume of smoke coming from the home, with the fire located in the basement, the department said.
