Norwalk Duo Nabbed After One Accused Of Stalking Ex-Girlfriend, Shots Fired
Two Fairfield County men were arrested, one for allegedly stalking an ex-girlfriend and for a firing gunshot in the area of her home and vehicle.
The men, Ian Murray, 33, and Christopher Smeriglio, 34, both of Norwalk, were arrested by Wilton Police on Thursday, Jan. 7, following a report of shots fired, said Lt. Gregg Phillipson.

Murder Suspect Found In Puerto Rico To Face Charges In Connecticut
An area man wanted for an October homicide has been brought back from Puerto Rico to face charges.
Davis Omar Roman Villanueva, 32, of Meriden, was flown from Puerto Rico on Monday, Nov. 30, to face charges for the October killing of Casey Schoonover, 34, Meriden Police said.
Schoonover was found dead on Foster Street as a result of two gunshot wounds, police said.
An investigation, with help from several local and federal police agencies as well as with the public’s help, led to Villanueva being identified as a suspect and his capture, police said.

Two Stamford Men With Long Records Busted With Loaded Guns During Stakeout
Two men, both allegedly with long criminal records, were busted with loaded handguns after police received a tip.
Brandon Turner, 25, and James Johnson, 23, both of Stamford, were busted after the Stamford police NARC and Organized Crime Squad received information on Sunday, May 31, that Turner would be in the area with a gun, said Capt. Richard Conklin.
According to Conklin, the unit received information that Turner would be driving a 2015 Kia Optimum and carrying a handgun. Officers staked out the area and spotted the vehicle near West and Baxter avenues, Conklin said.

Running Red Light Lands Felon Behind Bars For Drugs, Gun, Police Say
A 35-year-old convicted felon landed behind bars after allegedly running a red light in front of a police officer in Fairfield County.
Ramon Capacete, of Seymour, was arrested on Tuesday, Feb. 24, in Shelton after police officer John Kekac stopped his vehicle for running a red light on Bridgeport Avenue, said Shelton Police Det. Richard Bango.
After stopping Capacete, Kekac discovered the vehicle was not registered or insured and that Capacete did not have a driver's license, Bango said.
